Meaghan E. Ward

Meaghan E. Ward is an author and freelance illustrator with a strange fascination for emotionally traumatized characters, connecting fantasy worlds, and blue magic. When she’s not writing, she’s reading. When she’s not reading, she’s creating pictures worth a thousand words.

She lives in the mountains of North Carolina, where she haunts the local library and daydreams of what would happen if she stumbled into a fantasy world. She also enjoys in-season portal hunting.

In her award-winning story “A Good Night to Be Alive,” featured in Havok season two, Meaghan captures readers with a gripping narrative that earned her the Editor’s Choice Award.

Iron Hood

“Iron Hood,” written by Meaghan Ward and featured in Havok season six, reimagines the legendary tale of Robin Hood in a twenty-first-century setting. This fresh take on the classic story brings the hero’s sense of justice into modern times, blending action and intrigue with timeless themes of rebellion and redistribution.

Chicken Soup for the Soul Grieving & Recovery

Meaghan’s story, “A Quilt of Memories,” was featured in the 2011 edition of Chicken Soup for the Soul. Spanning pages 85 to 87, her heartfelt piece beautifully reflects on the pain of loss and the comfort found in cherished memories.
